For the essay 'Can cause of death groups explain sex differences in life expectancy'.

 

A number of prizes are available to outstanding students in the School of Demography.

Charles Price Prize

This prize is awarded annually to a student who has been admitted to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and submitted the best thesis based on outstanding research in Demography.

WD Borrie Prize

The Australian Population Association (APA) awards the WD Borrie Prize each year for the best student paper on a population-related topic.  There are 3 categories: Undergraduate; Honours/Masters/GradDip; and PhD.

To submit an entry to the 2024 Borrie Prize, applicants must send their paper with a completed entry form (PDF with information below) by email or post to the Secretary of the Australian Population Association (contact details are provided on page 2 of the document). 

Entries close 5:00 PM, Friday, 14 March 2025 AEDT.  - Note that the W D Borrie prize is solely awarded via the APA. Please contact the President of the Australian Population Association if you have any questions or issues.
