Graduate Abbas Adam passes away

Abbas Adam passed away suddenly on 29 December in Khartoum from diabetes-related complications. He had been working in Khartoum for several years for the United Nations Development Programme on the milleinium development goals. Before going back to Sudan, Abbas Adam was Director, Productive Diversity Section, Multicultural Affairs Branch, DIMIA. Abass was a graduate of the MA (Demography) program.

He is survived by his son Rashid, daughter Sulafa, their mother Gnari, and his granddaughter Ziah (all in Canberra), and his wife Shireen (in Khartoum).
