Thursday 24 February 2011

Three ADSRI demographers have been appointed by the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population to global roles:

Dr Adrian Hayes as Chair of the Scientific Panel on Population and Climate Change

Professor Jalal Abbasi-Shavazi as Chair of the Scientific Panel on Refugees

Dr Iwu Utomo as Member of the Scientific Panel on Adolescent and Young People’s Life Courses in Developing Countries.

IUSSP has around 20 Scientific Panels. There are about ten meetings of Scientific Panels held somewhere in the world each year. The output from the panels is published as special issues of journals or as Springer books. IUSSP is one of the most active among global scientific bodies.
