Dear demographers,

Semester 2 of 2024 is flying with activities and we praise the energy and hard work of colleagues who are in full teaching mode. The school has also been active with a wonderful healthy-looking list of publications, PhD awards and conferences in the recent past (see some highlights below).  

In this second half of the year, we will have our signature event on “Population & Data” (September 6th), the DEMO-ECR symposium (Nov 19th), the APA conference (Nov 20-21st), the visit to Kioloa (27-29th Nov), and our end-of-year lunch (10 December). Please reserve these dates! (and check the information in the events section).

We sadly learned that our dear colleague Gordon Carmichael passed away, and we send all our thoughts to the family. He will be greatly missed.
