Dr Caroline Kabiru from the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC) in Nairobi, Kenya, has been awarded the 2015 John C Caldwell Visiting Fellowship for African Researchers. This is a joint-initiative between National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health and the School of Demography. She plans to visit the Australian National University from 21 March to 13 May 2016.
Dr Kabirua is a research scientist in APHRC’s Population Dynamics and Reproductive Health Research Program. She holds a PhD in Health Promotion and Behavior (2005) from the University of Georgia, Athens (USA). Her research interests centre on issues related to adolescent health, including resilience and positive youth development. She is involved in research activities focusing on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and urban health issues.
