Dr Collin Payne awarded ANU Futures Scheme grant
Wednesday 21 November 2018

Congratulations to Dr Collin Payne, Lecturer in the ANU School of Demography, who has been awarded with an ANU Futures Scheme grant for his project “The Future of Ageing and Health in Low- and Middle-income Countries”.

Dr Payne will use Futures Scheme funding to advance understanding of the health, well-being, and longevity of older adults in low and middle-income (LMI) countries. His project focuses on understanding the dynamic pathways connecting social, biological, developmental, and policy determinants of health, and will be used to develop comparative models of potential future trends of health and health-care needs in LMI countries. The global scope of the proposed research will help identify populations that are succeeding in healthy ageing and develop policy frameworks to inform national health strategies.

The ANU Futures Scheme funded by the Office of the Vice Chancellor, allows world-leading early- and mid-career researchers to pursue cutting-edge research in their field.
