ADSRI at major population conferences

ADSRI members have been involved in 2 major population conferences recently - the European Population Conference 2012 and the Population Association of America 2012 Annual Meeting.

European Population Conference 2012

The European Population Conference 2012 was held in Stockholm, Sweden from 13 – 16 June, with the theme, gender, policies and population.

Professor Peter McDonald gave a keynote address at the Opening Plenary session of the European Population Conference entitled: The macro-economic benefits of gender equity policies. Professor McDonald also chaired the family policy session.

Population Association of America 2012 Annual Meeting

The Population Association of America 2012 Annual Meeting was held in San Francisco from 3 – 5 May. Professor M Jalal Abbasi-Shavazi chaired the session on perspectives on fertility in Asia and Professor Terence Hull chaired the session on family planning and reproductive health in the Asian context and was the discussant for the session on contextual and policy influences on reproductive health and fertility.
