International Migration Research Group

International migration makes a significant contribution to Australia's population growth. It is also an issue of enormous importance globally as almost all countries are affected by it as source, destination or transit countries. International migration has always been an important research issue for ANU demographers and it is a high priority research area for ADSRI.

ADSRI's research on international migration has a strong focus on the demographic, population and policy issues related to international population movements to Australia and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region and includes studies of immigrant settlement and integration and ethnic diversity. Current and recent research projects have received funding from the Australian Research Council, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, other Australian and State government bodies and non-government organisations.
