This week Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced plans to cut annual permanent migration intake. Local and national media outlets subsequently sought reaction from Prof James Raymer, who specialises in migration research in the ANU School of Demography.

His reponses were featured in the following media reports:

Prof James Raymer's current research focuses on how populations change and interact with each other across space. This includes developing models for estimating migration flows and small area demographic components of change. He is currently leading two Australian Research Council Discovery Projects:
