ADSRI hosted the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) Seminar on Population Dynamics and the Human Dimensions of Climate Change from 27 - 29 November 2012, organised by Dr Adrian Hayes, Chair of the IUSSP Panel on Climate Change.

Participants came from all regions of the world and included experts directly involved in creating the next generation of climate change scenarios.

The seminar discussed priorities for population-related research, especially as they relate to the next generation of 'shared socioeconomic pathways' to be used by the IPCC. A full report will soon be posted on the IUSSP website.

Following the seminar, Professor Wolfgang Lutz, one of the participants, gave a public lecture on the demography of human capital formation and its implications for future development.
