Visualisation Seminar: Latin America's epidemic of violence

Visualisation Seminar: Latin America's epidemic of violence

This seminar is presented as part of the visualisation workshop series

Visualisation tools help to highlight some of the most dramatic health changes in the world. During this seminar, maps, plots and apps are presented to introduce the most violent region in the world, namely Latin America. While eight percent of the global population lives in this region, more than one third of homicides occur in these countries. As well as homicides, the upsurge of violence has triggered a rise in perceived vulnerability and uncertainty in everyday life as well as creating health inequalities.
